How to use the score sheet
- Tap any open box for whichever player's turn it is.
- Pick the value you actually rolled from the legal scores shown — or cross it out for zero if nothing fits.
- Repeat for every player until all fifteen boxes are filled.
- The upper subtotal, bonus, and grand total are added up for you as you go.
What's on a Yatzy sheet
A classic Yatzy sheet has fifteen boxes. The upper section is the familiar six number boxes, ones through sixes. The lower section holds one pair, two pairs, three of a kind, four of a kind, a small straight, a large straight, a full house, chance, and Yatzy itself — five dice matching, worth a flat 50 points, the biggest single score on the sheet.
Every box has a fixed set of legal values given five dice in play, which is exactly what the tap-to-pick value list above is built from — you're never offered a score you couldn't actually have rolled.
The upper-section bonus
Score well enough in the upper section (ones through sixes) and you earn a bonus on top. Classic Yatzy uses one standard rule: reach 63 points in the upper section and you get a 50-point bonus added to your total. Sixty-three is roughly what you'd get scoring three of each number, so it rewards spreading your good rolls across the top rather than dumping everything into the lower section. Unlike Maxi Yatzy, there's no competing variant to agree on here — it's the same threshold everywhere.
How this differs from Maxi Yatzy
Maxi Yatzy adds a sixth die and five more boxes — three pairs, a full straight through all six numbers, a villa (two different three-of-a-kinds), a tower (four of a kind plus a different pair), and five of a kind — on top of everything here, and its Yatzy-equivalent box scores 100 instead of 50. The upper bonus grows too, with two competing traditions (84→100 or 75→50) instead of classic Yatzy's single 63→50 rule.
